Well, this might not be our usual topic of conversation, but it’s a crucial part of how we support athletes…This time, we’re focusing specifically on the common yet tricky issue of gut upset during exercise! (Or in other words – the urgency to poo during training or events!)
Managing gut upset during exercise:
Gut upset can derail performance, disrupt focus, and make training or racing an unpleasant experience. However, this isn’t something athletes just have to live with. Through strategic approaches like training the gut, adjusting pre-event nutrition, and timing meals appropriately, it’s possible to reduce these uncomfortable episodes and regain control.
If you have experienced gut upset during exercising, you are absolutely not alone – in fact, in some studies you have been found to be a part of the majority rather than the minority!
